Western art, jewelry, furniture and clothing all find a home under one roof during the Great Western Show. The four-day event, held at the Montana ExpoPark in Great Falls, comprises four shows in total: the Great Western Show, Celebration of Native Plains Artists, Legends West Art Show and the Best of the West Show.Attendees can explore more than 225 vendors among the four shows, as well as enjoy live music on Friday and Saturday evening. In addition, the Russell Educational Symposium takes place Saturday, March 22, at 9 a.m., and a Native American fashion show will be held at 2 p.m. Artist booths will also be open for the duration of the event.

Charles Fulcher, Eye to the Future, acrylic on canvas, 20 x 20 in.
“We want to fulfill the needs of every Western home,” says artist Charles Fulcher, president of the Great Western Show. “If a person wants to hang Western fine art on their walls, they’re probably the kind of person who would appreciate Western style in furniture and fashion as well. Why not complete the motif?”

Richard Rodriguez, Miracle of the Day, oil on canvas, 30 x 48 in.
Among the artists whose work will be featured at this year’s show is bootmaker, furniture designer and sculptor Ryder Gauteraux, who brings two new sculptures inspired by his experiences in the West as a bronc rider. Cowboy’s Vision Quest and Spirits on Edge are the first works of art that Gauteraux has created in bronze. “I love being a sculptor,” he says. “It’s not what I expected, and it’s more fulfilling…The amount of work that goes into each piece at the foundry really blew me away. And now it’s simply amazing and so much more fulfilling, knowing what goes into each work of art. I hope collectors and everyone else enjoys these works of art just as much as us creators enjoy creating them.”
